Pachamama FAQs

1. Will I fail a drug test if I take CBD products?

Most drug tests measure your level of THC, as that’s the psychoactive compound found in cannabis.

Our full spectrum products are produced with hemp, which by law, must not exceed 0.3% THC at harvest. So although the risk of detection is low in our full spectrum products, Pachamama cannot guarantee that THC will be completely absent in a drug test. It is always a good idea to contact your local testing lab to gain a better understanding of their testing standards.

In our CBD isolate products and our broad-spectrum products, there is no trace of THC present ever. We conduct thorough lab testing on those products to ensure purity and peace of mind.

2. Are your products chemical-free? If so, how pure are we talkin’?

You bet! Our products exceed the Colorado Department of Public Health’s standards. Using the most natural process, the purity of our products is surpassed by none! We do not use any chemical solvents to extract our CBD, and all of our hemp is extracted in a USDA certified lab. At Pachamama, we care about you and the environment - just a lot of love, and a lot of hemp!

3. Do you test on animals?

Absolutely not! The safety of our products is never tested on animals. However, it is pet-friendly!

4. Are your products gluten-free, vegan-friendly, and non-GMO?

Most definitely! Don’t forget cruelty-free!

5. How do your products taste?

The delicate extraction method that we use for our tinctures preserves natural earthy flavors of the hemp plant. Flavor profiles vary slightly by tincture due to the diverse assortment of herbal extracts that we have incorporated. For instance, you may notice hints of rich chocolate from the cacao in our Goji Cacao.

6. Does Pachamama ship to my house?

Yes! We ship nationwide excluding Idaho, Iowa, Nebraska, and North Dakota. Pachamama's’ shipping is handled with just as much love and care that we give to our hemp plants. We want every customer to feel the mindfulness we put into each process, beginning at our farms in Colorado and ending at your front door.

7. I'm from Idaho, Iowa, Nebraska, or North Dakota, why can't my order be completed?

Unfortunately, the sale of hemp/CBD products are not permitted for sale in those states! As the rules and regulations in place that restrict us from that sale, we will be unable to process any orders placed within in those states.

8. I just received my Pachamama CBD product. How much should I take?

Start low and go slow! The beautiful thing about our customers is that everyone is unique! Here is a great source to help you decide the right serving size for you or for your pet: https://cbddosagecalculator.com

9. Is hemp the same as marijuana?

Actually, they both live in the cannabis family but are vastly different from one another! Although they look similar, they are divergent and have varying uses. A cannabis plant that contains more than 0.3% THC at harvest is automatically classified as marijuana. Anything under 0.3% is called hemp (that’s what we use!). Marijuana produces little to no CBD with high amounts of THC. Hemp used for CBD products is bred to contain low amounts of THC and high amounts of CBD - the therapeutic compound that we at Pachamama love!

10. How is your full-spectrum CBD extracted?

We utilize an industry-leading extraction method. Our products are crafted without solvents in a high grade, certified, Colorado lab using only purified and heated air. After extraction, our products are triple-tested in a third-party lab. We repeat that rigorous process with every batch to ensure the most accurate results in every single bottle.

To learn more about our proprietary air extraction process, see our blog post on it here.

11. How should I store my CBD products?

Although here at Pachamama we love to be outdoors, it is best to preserve the freshness of your products inside a cool, dark place away from sunlight. This is especially important when it comes to topicals. For example, the melting point of shea butter, an ingredient that we use in our Athletic Rub, is a minimum of only 90 degrees! This is definitely not a product you would want to forget in your car on a hot summer day!

12. Where do you source your hemp from?

We believe in the importance of “single-origin.” From seed to harvest, we use the same seeds and strains per batch.  All of our products are extracted from organic hemp plants on licensed outdoor farms in the colorful state of Colorado. Our plants are nurtured with pure Rocky Mountain water and an abundance of sunshine. Cultivated directly from Mother Earth and harvested at peak quality.

13. Will CBD help my condition?

Due to federal regulations, we cannot claim to help with specific conditions. However, we advocate for everyone to do some self-research starting with a quick search regarding what you’d like to know. Try using PubMed, a free full-text archive of medical research studies.

14. Can I purchase your products at a brick & mortar?

Yes! We have a retail location with all of our products located at 1288 S. Broadway St, Denver CO, 80210. Our products can also be found at varying stores nationwide.

15. Will CBD make me feel high?

The CBD molecule does not produce any psychoactive effects because it is so low in THC, the “high” molecule. The only euphoria you might feel would come from the harmonizing properties of our products. At most, you may just feel a relaxed clarity.

16. What the heck are cannabinoids?

Cannabinoids are the incredulous compounds that are synthesized by the hemp plant! Our bodies also produce cannabinoids which are called endogenous cannabinoids. Endogenous means they come from inside of us. Plants contain exogenous cannabinoids. Exogenous means they come from outside of us, like from our CBD products!

17. Are there any side-effects of using CBD that I should look out for?

To date, there have been no adverse side effects discovered. According to a report from the World Health Organization, “CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential [meaning] there is no evidence of health-related problems associated.”

18. Will this affect my medication?

Our extracts are gentle yet powerful. At low doses, it is highly unlikely that drug-herb interactions will occur. However, potential does exist for CBD to interact with pharmaceuticals. Because of industry regulations, we cannot make any medical claims regarding the interactions of medication with CBD. We kindly advise talking with your healthcare provider or pharmacists with any medical questions you may have!

19. How do your topicals work?

Our topical products are quickly absorbed by the skin allowing for CBD to enter the bloodstream within minutes of application. Infused with aromatic plant extractions, our athletic rub and cooling ointment are crafted to be targeted formula. A little goes a long way but feel free to use as needed!

20. How much CBD is in each product and what sizes do you offer?

Full-spectrum tinctures come in a 1oz bottle containing your choice of either 750mg or 1750mg of CBD. In the 750mg products, 1ml contains 25mg of CBD and in our 1750mg products, 1ml contains 60mg of CBD!

Topical options include our Cooling Rub, which comes in a 1oz jar and contains 750mg CBD. Our Athletic Rub comes in a 2oz jar and contains 500mg CBD..

21. What is your return policy?

We whole-heartedly stand behind our products. However, we totally understand that unfortunate circumstances may occur when you may need to return a Pachamama product. For that reason, we accept any unopened products in their original packaging for 30 days after your purchase!

22. How long is the shelf-life?

There is an expiration date sticker on the bottom of each of our products!

23. My cooling ointment is too hard...

We formulated this product with beeswax which has a very thick consistency that allows the product to stay on and stay cool for a long period of time! Massage therapists love the consistency because it allows them to use it to push and pull muscles. Use a fingernail or small spoon to get it going!

24. Why is my athletic rub watery?

The base of our athletic rub contains a fusion of different plant-based oils which have different melting points. We don’t use any chemical emulsifiers in order to keep our products as pure as possible. For this reason, any separation that occurs is natural.

25. How much of a dropper is a full serving?

1 full squeeze! Our droppers are calibrated to release 1ml per serving. Our new droppers are graduated too, allowing for more accurate dispensing.

26. Are your products tested / Do you have lab results?

Our products are triple-tested in a third-party lab. We maintain a rigorous testing process with every batch to ensure a pure product in every single bottle. You can see our certificate of analysis and lab results here.

27. Are there any medication interactions that I should be aware of?

The way that CBD is metabolized by your body can interfere with how your body normally metabolizes other drugs you take. This may be most prevalent in people using blood thinners like Warfarin However, drug interactions aren’t always negative. Sometimes they can be beneficial for consumers by making certain drugs more effective, like Clobazam. In this case, the consumer will require less use of the drug and therefore less adverse effects from it.

THC and CBD are metabolized by CYP3A4 and CYP2C9.

CYP3A4 inhibitors slightly increase THC levels.

CYP3A4 inducers slightly decrease THC and CBD levels.

(Yamaori et al 2012, Watanabe et al 2007).

CBD, but not THC, is metabolized by CYP2C19

CBD is a potent inhibitor of CYP3A5 and CYP2D6.

As CYP3A4 metabolized about a quarter of all drugs, CBD may increase serum concentrations of macrolides, calcium channel blockers, benzodiazepines, cyclosporine, sildenafil (and other PDE5 inhibitors), antihistamines, haloperidol, antiretrovirals, and some statins (atorvastatin and simvastatin, but not pravastatin or rosuvastatin).

CYP2D5 metabolized many antidepressants, so CBD may increase serum concentrations of SSRIs, tricyclic antidepressants, and antipsychotics, beta-blockers and opioids (including codeine and oxycodone).

Warfarin - THC, and CBD increase warfarin levels

Clobazam - In children treated with CBD for epilepsy, CBD increased clobazam levels
